This denim jacket is based on a denim jacket from the 1940s, and has been reimagined with the use of selvedge on the collar. It is crafted from the iconic 'D01,' Studio D'Artisan's pioneering denim fabric that revolutionized the vintage denim scene in the 1980s in Japan. Returning to their roots, SDA meticulously examined archived denim pieces to replicate the distinct uneven texture of the fabric using a robust no. 6 yarn blend. Going the extra mile, the yarns undergo 20 rounds of natural indigo dyeing using the Kasezome (skein dyeing) technique by seasoned artisans in Tokushima. Featuring a classic Type I fit, the 'Origin' jacket is adorned with a selvedge cinch back fastener, paying homage to the vintage Selvedge jackets of the 1930s and 1940s.
Despite being a Japanese jacket, we find the sizing of this Type II to be more Western than Japanese. If you usually wear a size M in American jackets, you'll find a suitable fit with this jacket in size 40 (M). However, as always, we recommend consulting our size chart for the perfect fit. It is unsanforized but one washed, so there will be no shrinkage.
